Personal Thoughts
The first of DSST's new exams that are targeting popular CLEP exams. This is almost a mirror image of the American Government CLEP, except, in my opinion, it's much easier. Each of the 100 questions had only three possible answers. Compare that to five possible answers on the CLEP version. Secondly, the questions seemed simpler, with fewer scenario-based questions and many of them asking the same thing in different ways. I could easily identify the answer to 10 or so questions simply by comparing them to earlier ones.
That's not to say you should take this cold. Anyone without a firm grasp of how the political system in the United States works will still need to study. It hits the same big areas as the CLEP, such as the different responsibilities and powers of each branch of government, famous court cases, and how political discourse in the US is shaped. It just... doesn't hit them as hard. Given the choice between CLEP and this exam, I'll point people toward this one if all else is equal and their college accepts both. Be sure to check with your advisor, and best of luck!
